Hello friends, welcome back!
If you've read my review of the Dot & Key Vitamin C + E Super Bright Moisturizer, you'll know that I recently redeemed some trial points on the Smytten app. While I repurchased the Dot & Key moisturizer because I loved it, I also wanted to try something completely new.
My previous lip balm was almost finished, so I was looking for a replacement. Instead of sticking to a familiar brand, I decided to try a lip balm from a brand I’d heard about but never used. That's how I ended up picking the Brillare Natural Cacao Lip Balm. It comes in Strawberry and Coconut as well, but I went with Cacao.
After using it for some time, here's my honest review of the Brillare Natural Cacao Lip Balm, including what I liked, what could be better, and whether it's worth buying.

Price & Availability
The Brillare Natural Cacao Lip Balm comes in a 10 g tube and has a printed MRP of ₹295.
As for availability, this is where things get a little tricky. I've seen the Brillare Natural Cacao Lip Balm on Amazon, Nykaa and Tata CLiQ, but availability seems inconsistent. It can be available at one point and out of stock at another. I also couldn't find the lip balms, including other variants, listed on Brillare's official website when I checked.
Likewise, I haven't come across Brillare lip balms regularly in offline stores either, so easy availability may be one of the drawbacks if you end up liking this lip balm and want to repurchase it.
My Review on Brillare Cacao Lip Balm
Now, let's get into my experience with the Brillare Natural Cacao Lip Balm, from its packaging and texture to how it performed on my lips.
Packaging
The Brillare Natural Cacao Lip Balm comes in a light brown cardboard outer carton with a simple and minimal design. The carton contains most of the important product information, including the full ingredient list, key benefits, directions for use, and other details.
Inside, the 10g lip balm comes in an opaque, sturdy squeeze tube in a slightly darker shade of brown with a black screw cap. The tube has a slanted applicator, making it easy to apply the balm directly to the lips.
Overall, I find the tube simple, lightweight and handy. It's compact enough to easily fit into a purse, clutch, handbag, makeup pouch, or travel bag.
Colour, Texture and Fragrance
The lip balm has a deep dark brown colour. I also liked its smooth, slightly fluid texture. It isn't exactly watery but has a soft consistency that makes it easy to squeeze out of the tube and glide onto the lips.
As for the fragrance, it has a delicious chocolatey scent. Even after applying it to my lips, I get that pleasant chocolatey feel, which I personally really enjoy.

My Experience
I usually apply this lip balm once, especially when I'm heading out. In fact, it is often the last product I use before stepping out of the house. To use it, I simply give the tube a gentle press, and the lip balm comes out easily. It then glides smoothly onto the lips without any difficulty.
Apart from the heavenly chocolatey fragrance, the lip balm gives my lips a glossy finish with a brown tint when first applied. However, I have noticed that the colour slowly starts fading after around half an hour. With time, only a very light brown colour remains on the lips, which is barely noticeable.
What I do like is that my lips continue to feel soft and well moisturized for a long time. I don't normally feel the need to keep reapplying it throughout the day, which makes it a good everyday lip balm for me.
One small thing I also noticed with regular use is that the nozzle can become slightly brownish and look a little messy over time, especially when some extra product comes out during application. It's not a major issue, but I do find myself wiping the nozzle occasionally to keep it clean.

Pros of Brillare Cacao Lip Balm
- Smooth texture that glides easily onto the lips.
- Has a delicious chocolatey fragrance.
- Gives the lips a glossy finish.
- Adds a subtle brown tint to the lips.
- Keeps the lips feeling soft and moisturized for a long time.
- Doesn't require frequent reapplication, at least in my experience.
- Comes in a lightweight and handy tube that is easy to carry around.
- Claimed to be cruelty-free and vegan.
- Free from sulphates, parabens, formaldehyde, mineral oil, silicone oil, and artificial fragrance according to the packaging.
Cons of Brillare Cacao Lip Balm
- The nozzle can become brownish and look a little messy with regular use, especially when extra product comes out.
- Availability can be an issue. The lip balm is not consistently available across major platforms. While it may be in stock on some sites, it can be out of stock on others, and I couldn't find the lip balm variants on Brillare's official website when I checked.
- Since the tube is opaque, it is difficult to tell how much product is left.
- The brown tint doesn't last very long.

My Ratings
I'd rate the Brillare Natural Cacao Lip Balm 4 out of 5. Overall, I enjoyed using it and think it's a good everyday lip balm. I particularly liked its smooth texture, delicious chocolatey fragrance, glossy finish, and the way it kept my lips feeling soft and moisturized for a long time.
That said, at an MRP of ₹295 for 10 g, I feel there are other good lip balms available at a similar price point. The brown tint also doesn't last very long, and availability can be a big issue if you want to repurchase it.
Still, these things don't take away from the fact that it is a pleasant and moisturizing daily lip balm. If you'd like to try it, you can check whether it is currently available on Amazon.
Now, I'd love to hear from you! Do you have a favourite lip balm that you keep repurchasing? Or perhaps you know a good, brown-tinted lip balm with a delicious cocoa or chocolatey scent? If yes, please share your recommendations in the comments below. I'd love to try them! 😊
