Be it summer or winter, a body lotion is always a must. But when winter sets in, especially with the chilly weather at my place, it becomes almost non-negotiable. My skin gets so dry that I can literally draw lines on it with my fingernails, that’s how bad it gets.
Once my earlier body lotion got over, I simply picked Joy Honey & Almonds Advanced Nourishing Body Lotion, since I had already bought it. I’ve been using this body lotion for almost a month now. I kept telling myself I’d write a review, but somehow it kept getting pushed aside while I worked on other topics. Finally, I decided it was time to sit down and share my honest experience with this lotion.

The printed MRP on the bottle is ₹599 for 750 ml, though this may have increased now since I bought and stored it around five months back. I remember picking it up for under ₹500 from Dmart, which already felt like a good deal for the quantity.
Out of curiosity, I checked Amazon recently and was pleasantly surprised to see it available at an even lower price, currently under ₹400. Honestly, that makes it a great time to buy and try it out, especially if you’re looking for a budget-friendly, everyday body lotion.

My Review
The Joy Honey & Almonds Advanced Nourishing Body Lotion comes in a sturdy, opaque, dual-tone plastic bottle. Despite its large size, the bottle feels durable and easy to handle. The opaque packaging is actually a plus, as it protects the lotion from light exposure and helps keep the formula intact over time.
On the front side, the product name Joy Honey & Almonds Advanced Nourishing Body Lotion is written clearly and is easy to read at a glance. There’s an attractive visual of two almonds splashed in honey, which instantly highlights the key ingredients. Towards the lower end, it mentions with Wheatgerm Oil & Natural Sunscreen, and beside it is a droplet symbol surrounded by the words deep nourishment, natural skin care. The bottle has a pump dispenser, which adds to the convenience and makes it hygienic and ideal for everyday use. Overall, the packaging looks simple, attractive, and perfectly aligned with the nourishing theme of the lotion.
Once you press the pump dispenser (you don’t need to press it too hard or multiple times, as the lotion comes out quite easily and in a good amount), it easily oozes out. A single pump is usually enough. The lotion itself is white in colour and has a thin consistency. It isn’t runny, but it’s light enough to spread smoothly. When applied, it glides easily on the skin and gets absorbed within a minute of rubbing, leaving the skin feeling soft and well moisturised without any sticky feeling. The fragrance is very pleasant with a honey-like scent that isn’t overpowering.
From my experience, the skin stays well-moisturised for a fairly long time after application. I’d say it comfortably lasts around 10–12 hours, after which the hydration gradually starts to fade. During very chilly winter days or if you’re stepping out, reapplication does help, as it’s not the kind of lotion that lasts the entire day on its own.
By the way, the lotion bottle mentions natural sunscreen and wheatgerm oil, which adds to the nourishing aspect of the formula. While I wouldn’t rely on it as a replacement for a proper sunscreen, it does offer a little extra comfort for everyday indoor use and mild sun exposure.
In terms of suitability, this body lotion works best for normal to slightly dry skin. If you have very dry or extremely flaky skin, you may find it a bit light and might want to opt for a more intensive formula, such as Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Restore Body Lotion (which I’ve reviewed earlier).

My Ratings
I’d rate it 4.1 out of 5. It’s a pleasant-smelling, dependable and go-to body lotion for everyday use, especially for moisturising normal to slightly dry skin. However, those with very dry skin may want something richer.
Would I repurchase? Yes, especially for summer when I want a light and non-greasy hydrator.
