Hair on your skin is normal. Even hair on face is not unheard off. Everyone has it, be it you or me. While most women are blessed with facial hair that is fine and light-colored, some have excess facial hair (due to hormonal imbalance, genetic inheritance, a condition called PCOS, tumor, certain medications, etc.) that is a cause for embarrassment and great concern to them.

Irrespective of the cause, as a woman, if you are inclined to beauty and skincare and wish to have a healthy and clear face that is devoid of unwanted facial hair, then getting rid of it becomes essential. To remove hair from face, women generally visit beauty salons for facials, waxing and related beauty treatments. It is also pretty common for women to try shaving, tweezing, buying commercially available waxing strips or facial hair removal creams to uproot needless facial hair at home. Some also visit dermatologists for consultation and treatment.

If you are fine by all or anyone of the said methods then no problem at all. You can definitely try them, depending on your facial hair growth, the costs involved and after weighing the pros and cons of each of these methods.

But, on second thoughts, why spend money on getting rid of your excess facial hair on a routine basis (unless you have undergone a laser treatment or electrolysis) with products that you know nothing about or might be harmful/insensitive to your delicate facial skin. You can easily remove excessive hair from your face by using simple kitchen ingredients, at no extra costs and in the comforts of your home, whenever you want. If you agree to what I am saying, then keep on reading to know how you can make and use 3 simple and natural homemade recipes to treat unwanted hair on face effectively.

1) The Sugar and Lemon Trick

Sugar and lemon - easily available ingredients, isn’t it? The wonderful combination of sugar and lemon is being used since ages to remove unwanted facial hair, including your upper lip hair.

Lemon is one citrus fruit that is used for a variety of skincare purposes, because of its skin lightening properties, ability to get rid of dead skin cells and excess oil, reducing unwanted marks and overall improving the appearance of skin. This Vitamin C and antioxidant rich ingredient when combined with a sweet scrubbing agent like sugar, works like a wonder to get rid of unwanted facial hair.

Sugar
Lemon juice

How To Make & Use It:

To make a sugar and lemon face mask, squeeze one lemon to extract its juice. Add two spoons of sugar and 2 spoons of water to it. Mix all three. Thereafter, heat the mixture, till the sugar dissolves completely and the solution starts boiling. Turn off the gas and let the watery mask cool down a bit. Meanwhile, wash your face with a gentle cleanser and pat it dry. Now, touch the mixture to check if it is lukewarm and safe to apply. If yes, then start applying the mixture all over your face. After about 20 minutes, when the sugar and lemon face pack completely dries off, slowly massage and scrub it off from your face using cool water. What you see after using this pack is a definite reduction of hair from your face and a skin that is bright and glowing. The remaining hair on your face will be lighter in tone. Try using this face pack twice a week for best results.

If you want immediate results with this face mask, then let the mixture cool completely. Next, apply a thin layer of this face pack in the direction of hair growth. Place a clean cloth (preferably cotton) over the still wet and sticky paste on your face. Press and smoothen the cloth gently on it and leave it on for about 15-20 minutes. Subsequently, rip of the cloth in the opposite direction of your hair growth in one go. Repeat, till you get rid of all your facial hair.

If there is a slight stinging sensation on your face, then apply ice all over it. Follow it up by applying a moisturizer of your choice.

2) The Honey and Lemon Face Mask

Another easy and inexpensive method of getting rid of unwanted hair on face is by using the honey and lemon face mask. Honey is another ingredient that is used in many beauty and skincare products due to its numerous benefits. Be it hydrating and moisturizing the skin, cleansing the pores, lightening scars, gently exfoliating the skin, fighting pimples and acne or adding a natural glow, honey helps in making your skin look healthy, nourished and younger. When combined with a bleaching agent like lemon, the results are sure to bring a smile to your face.

Lemon juice

How to Make & Use it

For a honey and lemon mask, squeeze a fresh lemon and collect its juice. To this, add double the amount of honey i.e., if you have 1 spoon of fresh lemon juice then add 2 spoons of honey to it. Mix it well. Apply this mixture all over your face after it is cleansed and pat dried. Let the mixture sit on your face for 20 minutes, so that your hair softens and the ingredients work on your skin. After the stipulated time, scrub and rinse off the mask using slightly warm water. Do this twice a week.

Again, if you have more than normal facial hair that is stressing you a lot, then apply a thick layer of the above paste on areas that have more hair growth. Press a clean cotton cloth or waxing strip over it. After about 20 minutes, pull the strip or cloth in the opposite direction of the hair growth. This process is similar to waxing done for your hands and legs and would slightly sting. Apply ice to soothe the sting and redness if any.

3) The Gram flour, Turmeric and Milk Scrub

In many Indian households, washing face with gram flour or chickpea flour (also known as besan in Hindi) is a ritual. Girls are especially encouraged to regularly wash their face using gram flour to get a brighter and glowing look. It is hence not surprising to know that this easily available flour in Indian groceries, when mixed with simple kitchen ingredients like turmeric and milk, makes for an amazing exfoliating face mask to effectively get rid of dullness, dead cells and unwanted facial hair.

Gramflour (Chickpea flour) + Turmeric + Milk

How to Make & Use It

To make this face pack, take 1 1/2 spoons of gram flour and add ½ spoon of turmeric to it. Add 2 spoons of milk to make a smooth paste out of it. Apply this mixture on your clean face and leave it on for 20 minutes. You will feel the paste to have dried and tightened on your face. Now massage and scrub off this mixture using cool water. The scrubbing action and rough texture of the dried paste helps in unclogging pores, removing excess facial oil and removing unwanted hair from the roots.

Having tried and tested this method a couple of times lately, I would say that this is one of my favorites. The immediate soft, firm, supple and brightened skin is quite visible and felt after using this mask. I also did not get any yellow tones on my face, as the quantity of gram flour is more than double the turmeric. I feared of dry skin, but surprisingly my skin did not dry. The milk ensured that. The amount of excess facial hair I had after using this mask definitely decreased. But it was surely not zero. Do not expect miracles after just one try. Apply this pack twice a week for effective results.

Note:
* All the above home remedies are temporary methods to remove unwanted facial hair and hence need to be done regularly to see results.
* Always try the face packs at the backside of your hand first, to check if you are allergic to any ingredients.

  2. Let's be honest. Undesirable hair on the face is our greatest bad dream. In any case, the minute we attempt to string it off, we get furious red blotches all over. Along these lines, we have a go at waxing straightaway. After it, your face isn't just red and spotty, yet in addition swollen and sore. We gravely pledge that we are not going to try it again. Be that as it may, right before the following date/party/wedding, we are left pondering – what threat can one more try do? Furthermore, we are back to repeating the endless loop! Dread not! As usual, Mother Nature has given us astonishing arrangements that, after some time, will enable us to say farewell to the much-abhorred facial hair. I said 'after some time' since natural cures take more time to demonstrate results. However, adhering to characteristic items won't harm your touchy facial skin, dissimilar to those cures that guarantee moment results. Also, except if you are oversensitive to any of the fixings, they won't have any reactions. Visit the best salon around you or stay home and try these mixtures
